Vermont Information Technology Leaders
VITL is a non-profit organization that assists Vermont health care providers with adopting and using health information technology to improve patient care. VITL began as a project of the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems and was spun off as a separate entity in July 2005. VITL has built a broad group of stakeholders, including health plans, hospitals, physicians, other health care providers, state government, employers, and consumers. The diversity of its stakeholders is reflected in the makeup of VITL's board of directors, which has representation from each major stakeholder group. Because VITL's stakeholders come from both the private and public sectors, in essence VITL operates as a public-private partnership.
