I enjoy learning and using new technologies (and boy is this a great business to be in for new technologies). It seems like something new comes out every month, sometimes every week! And we actually use all of that variety; we currently are running several varieties of Macintosh OS, Windows, and Linux. In my work I use all kinds of programming technologies, including, HTML, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Postgres. These open-source technologies provide an incredibly vast and varied tool-kit.

The last few years there has been an explosion of the ways that we can use these technologies together in an amazing variety of ways. We have been doing more and more with AJAX. It allows us to make web pages with a lot more interactivity and integration with our backend services. This lets us create much more functional and useful interfaces for our customers. The websites are working better for their employees and their customers.

Over then next year or so, this rush of technologies will continue. I expect to be investigating a new collection of content delivery and development tools

Adobe had brought out exciting new improvements to flash and the new Adobe Air. These tools let us develop rich and responsive applications that run on your computers that interact with data on our servers.

Google has released open source toolkits for developing web applications that can store data on your local computer.

It's not clear how we will use these technologies yet. I can't wait to see how they develop.
